The state fee is 3,300 euros when applying for an activity license to operate as a financial institution and provide virtual currency services, 
for other types of activity licenses, the state fee is 345 euros.

In the payment description, please indicate the following: “Application for the authorisation of the Financial Intelligence Unit”, and add the name of the undertaking.

Refund of state fee

Withdrawing the application for performing the act before it is reviewed, ... and 

If the application for performing the act was withdrawn before being reviewed, the application for performing the act was not reviewed or if the state fee was overpaid, the payer has the right to seek a refund of the excess. 

Application for refund of state fee: 

Sign the application digitally and send the signed container to info@fiu.ee. In the subject field, specify: “Riigilõivu tagastamise taotlus” (Application for refund of state fee)

The Estonian Financial intelligence unit shall make the decision regarding refund of state fee and shall refund the state fee within 30 calendar days of receiving the application

The claim for the refund will expire after two years has passed since the end of the year in which the state fee was paid.

The State Fees Act governs state fee refunds.
